Earthquake
After our family fun outing making chocolate, Whitman’s energy levels tanked. He rested a lot, played video games with his buddies from home and played spades with the fam. We took advantage of sunny days, hung out with new friends at the pool/beach and worked with H + Mc on the tennis courts. We are thankful for the blessing of Chris’ parents being here! We can run man-to-man defense which certainly makes life much easier 🙌🏼 not to mention getting time in for tennis dates which we have not done in YEARS. Tennis + RSS have certainly been my saving grace with my anxiety.

Whitman started having worsening symptoms, so on Friday we went to the clinic for bloodwork and an appt with the doctor. Then we went out for a late lunch to a place that had yummy GF pancakes! Whitman was determined to go and try the food. Poor buddy got sick and was done for the day. His body is doing something wacky where it turns sugar or dairy into alcohol. He is flat out drunk after he has sugar or dairy with sugar. He seems ok with Greek yogurt but ice cream or a latte will do him in. This whole Lyme thing is crazy😩

Saturday night we experienced our first “big” earthquake. It was a 5.6 and shook our condo. The closet doors opened up, blinds rattled and everything was moving. Needless to say it was quite the scare and we spent the next few hours outside waiting to make sure all was well. We started Whitman’s week off with hurricane Enrique, and ended it with an earthquake. No biggie, everything’s fine here. Everything is FINE😳🙃

Henning was invited to go boogie boarding yesterday with our new friends and he had the BEST time. The 2 littles have adjusted easily but it’s been more difficult for him. We don’t take it lightly that he’s missing his first summer with our youth group and all of the fun plans he made. We are thankful he has met new friends whose parents are fun and “on the go”! We took everyone else to see a movie which is something Whitman really wanted to do. Not our typical 4th celebration but I decided we should have a “re-do” when we get home!

We met some VERY special people this week and I can’t wait to tell you all about them in my next few posts. 🥰
